October 6th, 2025
The NYS Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence invites you to Purple on the Plaza, a ceremony and vigil in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, on Monday, October 6th, from 6:00 - 7:00 PM at the Empire State Plaza North Reflecting Pool in Albany, NY.
Purple on the Plaza will bring together victims and survivors, their families, state and local leaders, gender-based violence service providers, first responders, and other community-based organizations to stand in solidarity with those impacted by domestic violence.
Survivors and public safety are top priorities for Governor Kathy Hochul, who has made record investments to support survivors, including improved policies and new initiatives to prevent and combat gender-based violence. It would be OPDV’s honor if you would join us for Purple on the Plaza and help affirm New York’s commitment to enhancing public safety while uplifting survivors. We are especially honored to welcome Joe Petito, father of domestic violence victim Gabby Petito, as a special guest speaker.
