Residential Cook

Catholic Charities Disabilities Services (CCDS), a leader in services for individuals with developmental disabilities, has full time opening for a Residential Cook position, within our Residential department.

Job Summary: Provide a healthy and supportive living environment for the individuals that we serve by cooking and preparing meals and providing a safe, clean kitchen environment.

Location: Albany, NY.

Responsibilities include; but are not limited to:

  • Assists with or provides household responsibilities to include, but not limited to meal preparation and cooking for 12-14 individuals at breakfast, lunch and supper.
  • Able to follow a menu to prepare for meal preparation and meal shopping.
  • Must adhere to the individuals specific dining plan.
  • Conduct the grocery shopping for the household to ensure food and supplies are readily available for meal preparation.
  • Be able to engage with the individuals who reside at the house in a friendly, helpful demeanor.
  • Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to the diverse population we serve, as well as works collaboratively with co-workers in a supportive environment.
  • Provides support to individuals using a person centered approach.
  • Works collaboratively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure a peaceful home environment for individuals.
  • Attends staff meetings and clinical team meetings as scheduled.

Qualifications:

  • Cooking skills are required; One year cooking in a commercial or residential setting is preferred.
  • A valid NYS driver’s license is required.
