Maintenance Technician Supervisor

Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm, rotating on-call required

Position Description: 
Catholic Charities Disabilities Services is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician Supervisor to assist with, and coordinate general maintenance of agency properties, as well as oversee maintenance staff. This position is based in Albany, but some travel between properties is required.

Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director, the Maintenance Technician Supervisor (MTS) will maintain the agency managed/owned properties, and insure that the standard of environmental quality reflects the Agency’s commitment to provide for the comfort and dignity of all persons receiving services.

Primarily, this position implements procedures for maintaining a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment; including grounds, at each location, and monitors adherence to those procedures. As part of these responsibilities, the (MTS) may, on occasion, be required to respond to sites in the event of an emergency to provide direct relief for the situation or to arrange and monitor the activities of a contractor who specializes in the particular problem at hand. The (MTS) will carry a pager for maintenance calls, on call responsibility to be shared with other maintenance persons.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
  • Developing monthly maintenance schedule of activities at the facilities for review by the  Associate ED.
  • Supervision of other maintenance technicians.
  • Manage implementation of maintenance help desk ticketing system.
  • Implement preventive maintenance procedures for heating, plumbing and electrical systems. 
  • Reviews, responds and ensures completion of regulatory required inspections.
  • Participates in regulatory surveys and inspections as needed, and works collaboratively with program sites under review.
  • Maintains an ongoing inventory of supplies and reports supply needs to supervisor.
  • Assists the Associate ED with managing environmental modifications activities including scope of work assessments, and obtaining information from other resources necessary for documentation.
  • Assists the Associate ED in managing fleet of agency vehicles, including facilities vehicles as well as residential and non-residential agency vehicles.   
  • Inspects the facilities regularly to identify hazardous conditions or repair needs.
  • Performs minor repairs as needed in consultation with the supervisor.
  • Performs all tasks required to maintain safe and clean grounds throughout the year.

In addition to 3-5 years of experience in the field of property maintenance, this position requires previous Technical/Vocational training, or AA/AAS Degree in a related field; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree or formal training. Experience with maintenance management software, and prior supervisory experience is required. Applicants must have valid NYS driver license and be able to work outdoors/perform weather related duties.
